Tree Service in Coral Gables, FL

What We See on Coral Gables Lots

• Big shade trees over 1920s Mediterranean Revival homes and barrel-tile roofs
• Black olives on the streets, about one in five of the city's public shade trees
• Yards off Old Cutler Road near Matheson Hammock and Fairchild with heavy native canopy

Trees That Keep Us Busy Here

• Live oak and mahogany: tough wood, but long limbs over roofs need thinning
• Black olive: honestly the messiest street tree in town, and only medium-low for wind
• Royal and coconut palms: seed pods and coconuts cleared before June 1

Rules to Check Before Cutting

• Removals need a Greenspace permit, a mitigation plan and an arborist report
• Taking more than 25% of a canopy or limbs over 10 inches needs approval
• Specimen trees start at 18 inches, and 24 inches and up need double mitigation
